If that Attending is not scheduled, you should then try to find one of the Attendings from the larger team see below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/jacobimed.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Team-Snap-Shot-v2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2847\" alt=\"Team Snap Shot v2\" src=\"http:\/\/jacobimed.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Team-Snap-Shot-v2.jpg\" width=\"280\" height=\"149\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For example, if I am Dr. Reid (PGY1), my TEAM ATTENDING is Dr. Dresdner. If Dr. Dresdner is not here, I should try and establish at the start of a clinic session if any of the other TEAM ATTENDINGS are here from the larger team, i.e. Dr. Mooney, Hahn or Shahan would be appropriate. If none of them are there, then you can then present to whoever is available. The idea behind this is for you to get to know your TEAM ATTENDING and establish a rapport with that Attending; this person will be responsible for a large portion of your evaluations throughout the years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I present?<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Always bear in mind the following when presenting a case:<br \/>\n\u2022 Who does the patient really belong to? Is the patient new, seen by another provider usually? Discharged recently?<br \/>\n\u2022 What are they here for? Always establish the patient\u2019s agenda as well as your own agenda. This will help to guide the encounter.<br \/>\n\u2022 Always do a thorough chart biopsy. No need to re-invent the wheel every time the patient gets seen.
