Perioperative Beta Blockers and Reduction of
Cardiac Events in Non-Cardiac Surgery  JAMA March 20, 2002.
Prior to the group session, read the “Scientific Review” which summarizes the
major trials of perioperative beta-blocker use.  Also read the new Lancet
article and accompanying editorial.  At the group session, go
over the cases in the “Clinical Applications”  and discuss how the evidence
from clinical trials can or cannot be applied to particular clinical cases.
