I-STOP program

This is a NY state mandated program that forces prescribers of narcotics and the pharmacists who fill the prescriptions to review a patient’s history of narcotic use by consulting  a state data base before prescribing /dispensing the drug.  To comply, do the following steps:

• Click on the I-Stop Prescription Monitoring Program words on the right side of the Jacobi home page or click here.

• Enter the ID and password. (Penny Roberts is preparing access for the housestaff but for now you can enter your attending’s info)
• Click PMP registry on the left, then follow the prompts entering the patient’s info
• Review the narcotic use history
• Document in your note (a prompt will appear as you z-out to close the visit) the unique number that will prove you consulted the data base
