If you are unable to make it to any clinic session for any reason, you must follow the below protocol as soon as possible. Since patients are being scheduled for you specifically, they will be expecting to see you.

1) Call 718-918-6119: Leave a message with your name and the reason why you will be out/late. This message is automatically sent to the clinic administrators so they can plan accordingly.

2) You must call/page the chiefs. First try and reach the ambulatory chief (Ari Geliebter, 917-219-2056). Otherwise, you should contact the inpatient chiefs at 718-918-5656 or call the chief administrative pager at 917-205-4076). Even if you speak to the chiefs, you must still call 718-918-6119 and leave a message.

As a reminder, calling in sick to the clinic counts against you in the “points” system, just like calling in sick on the inpatient side. This may mean more sick call later on.
