vaginitis case 1 answer 2

VAGINITIS CASE 1

ANSWERS

What more history do you need?

  • A sexual history would help.  If
the patient is not sexually active, trichomonas and bacterial vaginosis
    would be less likely.

  • It would also be helpful to know if the woman
is menopausal and whether or not she’s using hormone replacement,
as atrophic vaginitis is a consideration.

  • Candidal vaginitis would be made more likely
if the woman had taken antibiotics recently and if she had
    uncontrolled diabetes.
