The Jacobi Department of Medicine’s close affiliation with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine affords many opportunities for research. Clinical or laboratory research projects are generally undertaken during elective time throughout the three years of residency. Research can be done at Jacobi, Montefiore-Moses, Montefiore-Weiler and on the Albert Einstein College of Medicine campus.
Through the years, the Department of Medicine has forged close ties with leading basic science and clinical science investigators in the College of Medicine. As such, our residents have been able to perform high quality research with nationally and internationally recognized experts in every sub-specialty of Internal Medicine.
Many of our residents have authored papers in top ranking scientific journals, and have frequently taken prizes at national scientific meetings. Our commitment to research is emphasized by the fact that the majority of our residents choose to spend their elective time pursuing research projects.
On the Jacobi campus, the new Price Center for Translational and Molecular Biology Research is evidence of Einstein’s continuing commitment to excellence in Medical Research.
