In order to maintain our standards of excellence here at Jacobi, applicants should score greater than 240 on Step 2 CK (all exams must be passed on the first attempt).
Applicants from osteopathic medical schools (DO) from the US can submit COMLEX scores but they will also need to submit USMLE step 2 CK scores for their file to be reviewed.

Due to the highly academic nature of our program, having research time on your CV with publications or posters will also be important to getting an interview at Jacobi.

All applications are accepted exclusively through ERAS and the match will be exclusively through the NRMP program. We do not offer the option to “pre-match” at our program. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed until all documents are uploaded to ERAS. We suggest that you get all required documents in to ERAS as soon as possible in order to ensure that your file is reviewed as early in the season as possible.

For the 2023 ERAS® cycle, our program will strongly encourage all applicants to complete a supplemental ERAS application, offered through the AAMC’s ERAS program. We pay close attention to candidates who signal our program.  Applicants also will be required to complete the usual MyERAS application. Our interviewing will be all virtual this coming interview cycle.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Personal statement
  • 3-4 letters of recommendation
  • Medical school transcript
  • MSPE from your medical school
  • Photo

We sponsor both J1 and H1B visas. Please note however, that applicants with H-1 visas must pass USMLE Step 3 prior to Match Day or we will need to apply for a J1 visa to ensure an on time residency start. Please click here for more details on Visa sponsorship.

Application Timeline: Has changed due to COVID-19 as below.
Sep 28th – Jan 19th: Applications are reviewed
Oct 11th – Nov 13th:  Interview invitations are sent
By Nov 7th: We send “I’m Sorry” email to most that will not get an invitation

Interview:  November to January

We receive approximately 5,000 applications each year.  Due to the large volume of applications that we review, it is not always possible for us to contact all applicants immediately. We usually interview about 8% of these applicants. Please do not call with questions or to ask about the status of your application. If you are selected for an interview, we will be notified by email.

Thank you for your interest in our program and best of luck with your residency applications

Important: Unfortunately our program does not offer observerships.
