Dr. Naheed Ansari earned her MBBS from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan in 1998 and completed internship and residency at Mayo Hospital, Lahore Pakistan. After moving to the United States, Dr. Ansari completed residency at Nassau University Medical Center affiliated with State University of New York at Stony Brook. She completed nephrology fellowship at Nassau University Medical Center.
Dr. Ansari is currently an Attending Nephrologist at North Bronx Healthcare Network; Site Director for the Nephrology Division at North Central Bronx Hospital and an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Ansari is a current member of American Society of Nephrology, NEPHROLPLUS a website for worldwide nephrologists’ sponsored by National Kidney Foundation (NKF) cyberNephrology. She is also a Fellow of American Society of Nephrology and member of ACP and AMA. Dr. Ansari received several awards and honors over the years, including the Davidoff Society Award for teaching medical students at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2012. She has been involved in teaching patients with lupus about their kidney disease in collaboration with National Lupus Foundation.
Dr. Ansari is actively involved in research and is Principal Investigator of three grants sponsored by NIH and Ostuka and Co-Investigator of several other grants. Throughout her career, Dr. Ansari has numerous articles published, original communications in Reviewed Journals, chapters in books as well as many abstracts and poster presentations. She is on reviewer panel for NephSAP, a publication by American Society of Nephrology. She serves as reviewer and is on editorial board for many medical journals.
Dr. Ansari enjoys teaching residents and fellows and is always receptive to research ideas. She is easy to talk to—residents, fellows, and medical students enjoy her rounds and lectures.
