Jay Meisner, MD, PhD, FACC

Dr. Meisner is Director of Cardiology at Jacobi Medical Center and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and. After training in electrical and biomedical engineering, Dr. Meisner received his MD and PhD in physiology and biophysics from the Medical Scientist Training Program at AECOM. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and echocardiography.
Dr. Meisner is active in clinical cardiology, teaching, and research. He is Director of the Cardiac Care Unit and of Non-invasive Cardiology at Jacobi. He is Chairman of the Cardiac Arrest Committee and a longstanding member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He was a member of the AECOM institutional review board for several years. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal papers and is an invited contributor to the ACP Journal Club.
Dr. Meisner is active in teaching medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows and has received the Davidoff Teaching Award from AECOM as well as teaching awards from the Jacobi medical residents for the past two years. Dr. Meisner’s research interests are in diastolic dysfunction and computational modeling of left ventricular filling dynamics. He was the recipient of a New York Heart Association grant and has been the Jacobi site investigator for a number of multi-center clinical studies.
