She earned her MD at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY in 1984. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine-Primary Care at Jacobi Medical Center in 1987 and then stayed on as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine in 1988. She worked as a general internist in New Haven, Connecticut following residency but missed New York City and the Bronx so much that she returned to join the ambulatory faculty at Jacobi in 1994.
Dr. Weinstein is a board certified geriatrician and enjoys providing patient care most of all – especially care of the complex elderly patient. She additionally provides care to homebound elderly and most of her teaching efforts focus on the care of the geriatric patient. She continues to be energized and rewarded by her work with medical students and residents and is a member of the Davidoff Society, for excellence in teaching.
